FAQ

What is yoga therapy?

Yoga Therapy was born out of the Viniyoga Tradition by Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, the father of modern Yoga. It takes a practical approach where the tools of Yoga are appropriately applied to each individual’s unique needs and abilities. No two practices will look the same, just as no two people are the same.

What do I need to bring to a yoga therapy session?

Minimal equipment is needed. Just a Yoga mat and a water bottle. We recommend you dress comfortably.

Do i need prior yoga knowledge or skills?

Nope! Anyone can benefit from a tailored Yoga Therapy practice whether you are brand new to Yoga or have been practising for decades. We will work with you exactly where you are.

How can yoga therapy benefit me?

Yoga Therapy takes a holistic approach, working with the body, mind, and spirit. This means nothing is left out. Your past and current medical history will be taken into account to create the best practice for you.

What does a yoga therapy session entail?

Your very first session will be approximately an hour and a half long. This is the initial assessment and first session where a unique Yoga practice will be created for you to address your specific needs and goals, whether it’s chronic pain, fertility, illness or stress. The follow up sessions will each be an hour long where we will build on your previous session. Think physiotherapy but with the tools of Yoga instead!

Can I bring someone with me?

Every Yoga Therapy session is private, just you and the Yoga Therapist. The only exception is when the session is related to fertility, then we recommend both partners attend together.
